The United States spends significantly more on health care than any other nation, more than twice the average of 29 other developed countries. Preventive healthcare policies along with breakthroughs in early detection can help bend the healthcare cost curve.

Recently Toshiba demonstrated Reporter DNA Technology for Cell Diagnosis that detects the slightest changes at the cellular level as a result from illness and disease. Self-amplifying reporter DNA is used allowing gene activation which can be visualized at single cell resolution.

Minor changes inside the body can be detected much earlier by changes taking place at the cell and molecular level where today's diagnostic modalities fall short.
